Camps and Excursions
School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors. Excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works, while sports teach teamwork, discipline, and leadership. All are a part of a healthy curriculum.
The staff notice that children benefit greatly from attending school camps and find that is an experience whereby the children build upon independence and relationships in a multi age setting.
Class teachers attend and to assist us to provide small activity groups, Parent Helpers are required. All Parent Helpers are required to hold a current ‘Volunteer Working With Children Check’ and its would be an advantage to hold first aid qualifications
Information sessions regarding the camps are held for students and parents after school hours.
Prior to an activity full details are circulated to parents and carers. School Council approves all camps, and adventure excursions (e.g., swimming, bike riding) and non-local excursions. Financial assistance and payments plans can be addressed confidentially with the Business Manager. Permissions forms are required for all camps, adventure activities, and excursions
Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF)
CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families in covering the costs of school trips, camps, and sporting activities.
If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions, or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.
